I really appreciate the distinction between Gene edited and Gene modification. This raised my own curiousity to learn more about the whole subject and to face some of my own closed mindedness on the subject.

I think this whole topic is truly remarkable and really intriguing. I think there are a lot of points to consider and areas where strong resolutions will need to be made. I have a lot of questions about companies owning genetic coding and so on, for example.

One thought I had while reading was whether tree editing could be used to help reduce the potential threat of future wildfires and wildfire seasons. If they could be edited to retain more water or grass and underbrush be edited to be more resistant to fire in general. Well, it’s certainly interesting to think about.
