Goddess in Star Dust Glory

I looked to the sky
It was sunrise and the world was thawing
But still the full moon held on
She shined as bright and brighter
Even as the sky to the east turned salmon
A bonfire rolling to furious new day
Mother moon wrapped in fog
Melted into the day, fading away
Her bright moon skin melted and smeared
An oil painting touched before drying
But a second look found her defiant
Shrugging off the all consuming…
