Like many others who have already responded, I respect the hell out of the grit and determination of persisting. I think passion is, of course, important. And I’m not worried about your usage of the word “habit” to describe what you’re doing either. For me it’s ritual, it’s routine, and it’s a lively dedication that keeps me going. It feels much like an extension of who I am and hope to be projected out into the world through what I’m writing. I sense that that is you as well. What I love most about this piece is that it forces me to stop and think through some things I’ve simply taken for granted. And it forces me to slow down and really consider what I believe and how exactly to get at my own, deeper “why” driving this whole thing.
