This hits me like a ton of bricks. I could live a thousand years and still remember the day I heard the words “cancer” and “stage-4" and a few days later, “terminal.” All applied to someone I love just as strong now as I ever did, and she’s been gone for just about 5 years.
The world and the words that make it certainly have power. They can freeze you. And they can give you a fresh fire for life.
My grandmother taught me a lot about being curious, joyous and the strength of friendship even in, especially in, families.
Your story reminded me of all of this. Very inspirational. Thank you for sharing.
